Restoring an older version of a form

If you’ve made a lot of changes to a form, it can be very time-consuming to undo these changes one by one. Instead, you can use the Version history to restore an earlier version of the form before the unwanted changes were made.

Each time you open a form in the editor, Formcentric automatically creates a new version if changes were previously made – whether to form elements, confirmation messages, or other settings.

Ways to restore

You have two options for restoring an older form version. With both methods, you can completely adopt a previous version while leaving an explanatory comment about why e. g. you're reverting to the earlier version.

Once restored, all form settings and content will match the selected version.

Option 1: Restore directly from the version history overview

  1. Open the form in the Editor by clicking the name of the form in the Forms area.
  2. Click Settings on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Version history in the left-hand navigation area.
You now see an overview of all of the versions that have been saved for your form.
  4. To restore a version, proceed as follows:
Go to the version you want to restore and click the context menu link under Actions.
    Click Restore.
You can leave an explanatory comment in the popup window that appears.
    Confirm with Restore.

Option 2: Restore while viewing individual versions

  1. Open the version history, either via the Settings menu in the editor or through the context menu link under Actions in the Forms area.
  2. Click a version number to view it.
  3. To restore the displayed version, click on Restore in the upper right corner.
  4. In the dialog box, you can add an explanatory comment before confirming the restoration.
  5. While previewing, you can also:
  1. Navigate between different versions using the arrow buttons
  2. Add a comment to the version
  3. Return to the version history overview
  4. Switch back to the current version in the editor
